On Friday, July 3rd, Project Pengyou hosted their third annual Independence Day BBQ. The event proved to be a good chance to introduce the American holiday to Chinese guests and for American guests in China to bond over shared traditions. The crowd included past Project Pengyou Leadership Fellows and chapter members, specifically from the TAMIU and UW-Madison Chapters, students from various study abroad programs such as Harvard Beijing Academy, ACC and CIEE, and other young professionals living and working in Beijing.
A successful kick off to Independence Day weekend, more than 50 guests got their fill of American favorites, such as hamburgers, hotdogs, and potato salad, and mingled in the courtyard until 10:30. We hope to see another great turn out next year and keep this tradition going!
