On October 31 and November 1, founder and President of the Golden Bridges Foundation, Holly Chang, spoke at the China Philanthropy Summit in Indianapolis. This summit served to join researchers and practitioners from China’s philanthropic community in culminating their research findings as part of the three year “Initiative on Philanthropy in China” funded by the Henry Luce Foundation and the Ford Foundation, jointly carried out by the Indiana University Research Center for Chinese Politics & Business (RCCPB) and the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. This initiative included research projects, workshops and conferences, publications, a new course, student internships, and engagement in a philanthropic activity to address a social problem. Researchers from University of Wisconsin, University of Pennsylvania, University of Maryland, Tsinghua University, and Sun Yat-Sen University, as well as other institutions, presented the findings from the 11 research projects associated with the Initiative. Holly was joined by Yang Peng, former President of One Foundation and co-founder of Philanthropy in Motion, as co-keynote speakers, to share their experience with philanthropy in China with the participants.
