On November 20th, Project Pengyou Campus Chapters joined with the US State Department’s International Education Week and Asia Society Confucius Classrooms to celebrate US-China study, engagement, and friendship by simultaneously launching events and social media campaigns. All Campus Chapters shared their mission by teaching the word “pengyou” or any other Mandarin word to a new friend and posting a photo on social media.
Here is a glimpse of other Project Pengyou Campus Chapter events from around America that were held to teach students about the organization: Members of the Montclair Kimberley Academy shared Chinese cuisine with their peers by bringing world famous chef Pichet Ong to cook and give a talk on Chinese food culture. The Horace Mann School Chapter celebrated by sharing the mission of Project Pengyou with other Chinese classes at their school. The University of Rhode Island celebrated with a ping pong tournament among its members. The Texas A&M International University Chapter made panda cupcakes and held chopstick challenges.
