A Week of Philanthropy Conferences in Beijing

This past week, there were a string of philanthropy-related gatherings and conferences in Beijing.  As the philanthropic sector continues to grow in China, Golden Bridges is witnessing an increasing number of high profile events.

Nov. 13, 2013 – The 3rd Annual China-US Strategic Philanthropy Workshop (CUSP) – Hosted by the East-West Center and the China Philanthropy Research Institute.

Nov. 14-15, 2013 – The 5th Annual China Private Foundation Forum – Organized by an alliance of private foundations, this is likely the most content-heavy conference focused on growing a strategic and professional philanthropic sector in China. Topics this year included the taxation of trusts and foundations, NGO-foundation collaboration, and disaster relief.

Nov. 18, 2013 – The 2nd Annual China Philanthropy Forum – Hosted by Caijing Magazine, this conference is one of the more splashy and media-heavy gatherings, graced by some major international names.  This year, the closing speaker was Bill Clinton.
